Central Compact Objects (CCOs) in Supernova Remnants

An astronomer by day ...
and by night!
I am a PhD student at the University of Manitoba, Canada, working with Dr. Samar Safi-Harb in her eXtreme Astrophysics group. Aside from doing research, I write for Astrobites and volunteer at the Lockhart Planetarium, Winnipeg. I am a co-organizer for the Open Cultural Astronomy Forum and currently serves as the chair of the Graduate Student Committee at the Canadian Astronomical Society (CASCA). I completed my undergraduate study in Astronomy at Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia and my master’s in Astronomy at Wesleyan University, U.S.A., where I was also a Fulbright fellow. Before starting my PhD, I worked as a data analyst for a large Indonesian tech company for almost 4 years, and in 2019 I made my way back to Astronomy research by doing a reasearch internship at the European Southern Observatory in Chile.
My doctoral research focuses on utilizing integral field spectroscopy for supernova remnants research in optical wavelength. Here are several highlights of my research work:
